ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
In elementary schools, our focus is on boosting confidence, personal development, and representation.
We organize various school activities including:
- Book readings sessions
- Academic Support / Tutoring
- Black Excellence Panels
- Reflection and growth sessions
- Emotional support practices
- Team building & social skills development
- Explorations of different professional careers and academic majors
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL
For middle and high school students, our initiatives are designed as stepping stones for successful transitions beyond high school.
We offer various school activities including:
- Confidence-boosting activities aimed at addressing deeply rooted insecurities in Black communities, such as colorism, discrimination based on textured hair ("texturism"), and other societal pressures.
- Information sessions on post-secondary options and encourage college applications.
- We host events and activities that allow students to explore career possibilities with guidance from Howard students majoring in those fields.
- Community Service Projects.
- We provide sessions on FAFSA, scholarships, and grants, urging students to consider their best options.
- We also inform students about summer programs, internships, and beneficial clubs to join during their middle and high school years to better prepare for the future.
